San Miguel Ginebra

Ginebra San Miguel was first introduced in 1834 and is recognized as the number 1 selling gin in the world. It is a kind of Dutch gin made from fine sugar cane alcohol and selected imported essences.

Gin is a strong spirit or alcoholic drink that is made by the distillation of a fermented grain batter. The addition of juniper berries (or blackthorn berries in the case of blackthorn) gives it its specific taste. The taste of ordinary gin is very dry (as opposed to sleedoorngin), as a result of which it is rarely consumed purely.

Gin comes directly from the gin. Already in the Middle Ages, a gin-like drink was made on a small scale in the Low Countries. Professor Franciscus de le Boë Sylvius would have fired a distillate around 1650 which he called genius or Genova. The population quickly changed the name to "genever" and "gin".

In England, this drink has gone through its own development, so that it has become a typical British product. One of the best-known brands is Gordon's Gin. The oldest Belgian gin is Cockney's Gin.

With (dry) vermouth, gin is an ingredient of the classic Martini.

Gin is often mixed with Tonic to Gin and Tonic.
