Rambutan in syrup

This fruit is the same size as a chestnut, but covered with long soft spines or hairs that give the fruit a bizarre appearance. The flesh is glassy white in color, very juicy and sweet with an attractive aroma. There is one large stone in the pulp, which is easy to remove. The kernel is not edible. This fruit is related to the lychee. The fruits are rich in vitamin C. This fruit is mainly produced in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Madagascar.
