The coconut is also known as the "klapper" in Dutch, which is a derivation from the Malaysian word "Kelapa". The coconut is not actually a nut, but is classified as a drupe. Coconut, which is often used in Asian cuisine, comes in various forms such as dried coconut flour, shredded coconut, and preserved coconut. Coconut milk is obtained by mixing grated coconut with water and squeezing it. Coconut milk is often mistaken for the liquid inside the coconut itself. Coconut water is the clear liquid found inside a young, green coconut and is 100% free of bacteria. Additionally, sugar can be extracted from the palm of the coconut and is commonly known as palm sugar.
