Pad Thai Sauce

Pad thai sauce is naturally made from four main ingredients. Tamarind pulp, fish sauce, palm sugar, and paprika or chili powder. Pad thai is a classic Thai dish that is often eaten in combination with rice noodles. The Pad Thai has a typically spicy taste that is very favorite in Thailand.

What is Pad Thai?

This dish is a popular Thai one pan dish. This dish consists of dry fried rice noodles and is mainly sold in Thailand in various food stalls that you see so often. The original recipe dates from the time of the second world war, the Thai prime minister wanted to promote the use of rice and wanted to let the Chinese influences disappear from the Thai kitchen. The well-known egg noodles were replaced by the rice noodles, resulting in the Pad Thai as we know it today. The popularity of the Thai dish is rising and is high on the ranking of 50 tastiest dishes in the world.

Preparation

  • Soak the rice noodles
  • Bake it in a wok together with eggs and chopped tofu
  • Add the Pad Thai sauce and possibly shrimps or meat during the wok.
