We charge shipping costs, but why?
In order to ship our packages, we charge shipping fees, but why?
Shipping costs
We sometimes receive inquiries about why there are shipping charges and why we don't offer free shipping on orders above, for instance, €40, as some other websites do.
The costs incurred for shipping unfortunately aren't free for us either. The packages ordered online often consist of a wide variety of products that require meticulous hand-packing. Some of these items are fragile and need to be individually wrapped before being sent to you, our valued customer. This packing process demands a considerable amount of time and effort, which cannot be compared to other online stores where customers typically order only one or perhaps three items. Our orders sometimes comprise more than 80 items.
Furthermore, we prioritize ensuring that our customers receive products in optimal condition, which entails investing in special packaging materials. Many of our items are food products, where profit margins are inherently lower compared to non-food items commonly sold by other webshops.
Certainly, we could offer free shipping, but these costs would need to be covered in other ways. Often, many webshops incorporate these expenses into the product prices. However, we do not wish to adopt this approach as it wouldn't be fair to customers who place larger orders. They would end up paying unnecessary additional shipping costs.
Hence, if you compare us to websites offering free shipping at lower rates, please realize that eventually, you'd still be covering these costs, either in the product prices or through hidden charges.
We believe in maintaining transparent and fair costs for our customers.
